Hurley Named to Third Team All-MEAC

BIRMINGHAM – UAB bowling senior Katie Hurley has been named to the MEAC All-Conference Third Team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
The Phoenix, Arizona native led the Blazers with a 193.8 average and a high score of 257. She was named MEAC Bowler of the Week on February 15 for her first-place finish in the Storm Flyer Classic and MVP performance. That weekend, she topped the 200-pin mark three times and averaged 219.2 pins per game.
"Katie has had an impressive senior season," said head coach Michelle Crews. "She has truly shined on the lanes this year and am so proud of her growth as a player and as a person. The last 3 years have been some very unprecedented times for all athletes. Katie has continued to work so hard and set some big goals for herself, and I'm so proud to see her knock a few of them off her bucket list this season! Congrats, Katie bug. We are so proud of you."
Up next, UAB heads to Chesapeake, VA for the MEAC Championships beginning March 25.
