Katie Hurley Named MEAC Bowler of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Senior Katie Hurley has been named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowler of the Week, the conference announced on Tuesday.
"I am so proud of Katie for winning her first MEAC bowler of the week," head coach Michelle Crews said. "She has been working so hard for so long and to see everything come together in her senior year makes my heart so happy. This is the best way to kick off our back half of the spring semester."
The Phoenix, Ariz. native was named the Storm Flyer Classic MVP after her first place finish this past weekend. Hurley averaged 219.2 pins in traditional play. She bowled a weekend-best 257 and topped the 200-pin mark three times. In Baker format, Hurley averaged 19.4 pins per frame.
This is Hurley's first bowler of the week honors of her career and the first for the Blazers this season.
Up next, UAB heads to Norfolk, Va. for MEAC #2 on Feb. 19 and 20.
