UAB Baseball Releases 2022 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM —UAB Baseball head coach Casey Dunn has announced the Blazers 2022 schedule. UAB hosts 30 home contests, including two games at Regions Field.
The Green and Gold open the season at home Feb. 18-20 with a four-game series against Northwestern in the first ever meeting between the two programs. The following weekend (Feb. 25-27), UAB travels to Hammond, La. for a three-game matchup against Southeastern Louisiana.
The first midweek contest of the season comes March 2 at Auburn. The Blazers head back to Young Memorial Field for a nine-game homestand with games versus Alabama A&M (March 4-6), Samford (March 8), Alabama State (March 9), Belmont (March 11-13) and Jacksonville State (March 18).
UAB opens conference play at with the first of two trips to Texas to take on Rice in Houston, March 18-20.
The Green and Gold return home for a midweek contest versus Alabama at Regions Field on March 22. The first home conference series comes March 25-27 against Middle Tennessee.
UAB makes the short trip down the road to defending Southern Conference Champion Samford on March 29 at Joe Lee Griffen Field. The Blazers return to Young Memorial Field for the first home conference contest April 1-3 versus Marshall.
The second game of the season at Regions Field is April 5 as the Blazers take on Auburn.
April 8-10, UAB makes the trip to Boca Raton, Fla. for a three-game series against Florida Atlantic. The Green and Gold then travel for a mid-week contest against reigning National Champions, Mississippi State on April 12.
The Blazers welcome last years Conference USA Champion Old Dominion April 14-16 at Young Memorial Field.
The Green and Gold travel to Tuscaloosa, Ala. to face Alabama April 19 before making the trip Charlotte, N.C. to take on Charlotte on April 22-24. The game in Charlotte marks the first time since 2018 that UAB has played in the Tar Heel State.
On April 29-May 1 the Blazers host Southern Miss at Young Memorial Field.
UAB hits the road for five games beginning May 3 at Jacksonville State, followed by a three-game conference series at Western Kentucky. The Blazer close out the road swing down in Montgomery to face Alabama State. UAB holds a 30-6 overall record versus the Hornets.
The final home series of the season comes against FIU May 13-15 in the first meeting between the programs since 2019. In the last meeting between the program, the Blazers took two out of the three games in Miami.
The Green and Gold travel for the final mid-week matchup for the lone meeting of the season with Troy on May 17.
UAB makes the program's first ever trip to San Antonio to close out the regular season at UTSA May 19-21.
Postseason begins with the Conference USA Championship in Hattiesburg, Miss. May 26-30, hosted by Southern Miss.
