Prince Named John Mackey Tight End of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – UAB redshirt senior Gerrit Prince was named the John Mackey Tight End of the Week, the organization announced on Wednesday.
Prince snagged a career-high six receptions for 65 yards and a pair of touchdowns in the Blazers' 28-21 win over Tulane.
The Shawnee, Kan. native leads the team with 13 receptions for 269 yards and five touchdowns on the season. His five touchdowns rank fifth nationally and leads all tight ends in that category. With 10 career receiving touchdowns, Prince currently ranks tied for eighth all-time at UAB for career touchdowns receptions.
The Blazers now play their highly anticipated home opener at Protective Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 2 against Liberty. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
