UAB Cross Country Releases 2021 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB cross country coach Maryn Lowry has released the Blazers 2021 schedule. UAB returns a veteran lineup with eight returners and one newcomer.
"We are excited to announce our 2021 cross country schedule," Lowry said. "The schedule will play to the strengths of this group by giving them opportunities to compete against quality teams and build upon the momentum they have built.
"There are many seasoned returners in this group who are looking forward to leading this team in a positive direction."
The Blazers open up the season at the Memphis Twilight hosted by Christian Brothers University on Sept. 4. It's the fifth time in the previous six seasons, UAB makes the trip to Memphis.
UAB heads up to Huntsville, Ala. for the North Alabama Showcase on Sept. 17. The final road trip for the Blazers is on Oct. 2 for the Louisville Cross Country Classic.
On Oct. 16, the Green and Gold host the Blazer Classic at Veterans Park.
"As always, we are excited to host the Blazer Classic at Veteran's Park, giving the team a chance to race on our home course against some great teams," Lowry added.
The Conference USA Championship is on Oct. 29 in Charlotte, N.C. Last season, the Blazers' fifth-place finish was the highest since 2017.
