Ratzlaff Defeats No. 23 Cattaneo at Paralympic Games

TOKYO - UAB volunteer assistant coach Casey Ratzlaff won his first round match at the 2020 Paralympics Games on Thursday. Ratzlaff defeated the No. 23 player in the world Federico Cattaneo 6-2, 7-5.
Ratzlaff advances to the Second Round to face the No. 3 player in the world, Joachim Gérard from Belgium. Gérard is coming off winning both the Australian Open and Wimbledon Championships earlier this year.
Time for Ratzlaff's singles match and his First Round double match with partner Connor Stroud against Leon Els and Evans Maripa from South Africa are to be determined.
