Brown Jr. Lands on Hornung Award Preseason Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Jermaine Brown Jr., who Blazer fans see lined up all over the field, has been named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List, which is presented to the nation's most versatile player.
Brown started his career at running back, but has since been used as a jack of all trades at running back, wide receiver and kick returner.
Towards the end of last season, Brown Jr. started returning kickoffs and excelled in his new role. In UAB's final three games, he returned six kickoffs for 153 yards (25.5 average) with a long of 47 coming at Louisiana Tech.
In all, Brown Jr. had 435 all-purpose yards in 2020 (250 rush, 153 return, 32 receiving) and should see an increase in production as a wideout and returner this coming season.
The Blazers open the season on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State at the Montgomery Kickoff on ESPN. Season tickets are on sale by clicking here. Single game tickets go on sale Aug. 4.
