Matt Quinn Named to Lou Groza Award Preseason Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Coming off a tremendous freshman season, sophomore Matt Quinn has been named to the Lou Groza Award Preseason Watch List which is annually presented to the nation's top place kicker.
Quinn led the team with 64 total points by going 11-of-12 on field goal attempts and 31-of-32 on PAT. He made his final 10 field goals of the season.
The Spanish Fort, Ala. native was especially clutch in the Conference USA Championship Game as he made field goals of 30, 42 and a career-best 48 yarder in UAB's 22-13 victory over Marshall.
Quinn was an Honorable Mention All-Conference USA performer in 2020 and was a midseason addition to the FWAA Freshman All-America Watch List. His field goal percentage of 91.7 was the second highest in school history for a single season.
Quinn is one of four players from Conference USA selected to the preseason watch list and one of 30 overall.
The Blazers open the season on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State at the Montgomery Kickoff on ESPN. Season tickets are on sale by clicking here. Single game tickets go on sale Aug. 4.
