Moll Earns Nod on Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Preseason watch lists and the name Kristopher Moll go hand-in-hand.
The senior's most recent national recognition comes from the Charlotte Touchdown Club who has named him to Bronko Nagurski Trophy Watch List, which is presented to the nation's most outstanding defensive player.
A two-time First Team All-Conference USA selection and a 2020 Honorable Mention All-American, Moll is utilizing his extra year of eligibility to lead UAB's C-USA title defense as he anchors one of the top defensive groups in all of college football.
Moll has been a fixture on a unit that has finished top 10 nationally in total defense each of the last three seasons. The Miami native played linebacker the past two years, but is moving back to the star safety position where he played as a sophomore.
Moll enters his final year with 221 tackles and needs just 32 more to crack the top 10 for career tackles at UAB. Despite missing one game last season, Moll led the team with 59 total stops and added 4.0 TFL, 2.0 sacks, six QBH and two pass breakups.
This is Moll's second consecutive year being named to the Nagurski Trophy Watch List.
The Blazers open the season on Sept. 1 against Jacksonville State at the Montgomery Kickoff on ESPN. Season tickets are on sale by clicking here. Single game tickets go on sale Aug. 4.
