Hayden Pittman Lands on John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List

BIRMINGHAM – Senior Hayden Pittman has been named to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List, which is presented annually to the nation's most outstanding collegiate tight end.
A four-year starter, two-time Conference USA Champion and an All-Conference USA honoree last year, Pittman has been a fixture in the lineup since UAB's return to the playing field in 2017.
Pittman is one of 11 UAB seniors utilizing the extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to COVID-19, and enters his fifth season with a reception streak of 25 straight games dating back to the 2018 season.
The Spanish Fort, Ala. native had 19 catches for 227 yards and a touchdown last season. His touchdown came in the Conference USA Championship Game at Marshall which sparked a 22-13 UAB victory over the Thundering Herd.
Pittman is one of three players from Conference USA selected to the John Mackey Award Preseason Watch List and one of 56 overall.
He joins Kristopher Moll and DeWayne McBride who have been selected to national preseason watch lists from UAB so far this season.
The Blazers are just 10 days away from the start of fall camp and 40 days away from opening the season at the Montgomery Kickoff against Jacksonville State. Season tickets are on sale by clicking here.
