UAB Beach Season Ends with 4-1 Loss to No. 14 FAU at CCSA Tournament

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team saw its season come to an end on Friday evening at the CCSA Tournament after suffering a 4-1 loss to No. 14 Florida Atlantic at John Hunt Park.
The Blazers finished the 2021 season with an overall record of 12-15 under first year head coach Terri Del Conte. Milestones accomplished include winning a program record five CCSA matches and earning the program's first ever national ranking.
Sarah Dickson and Jenna Gathright tallied the lone victory for the Blazers with a three set victory on court four. The duo ran away with the third set, winning 15-8 to claim the victory.
However, the Owls won every other court in straight sets for the 4-1 victory.
The Blazers return 15 of their 17 players from this year's team and look to build upon a very solid 2021 campaign which brought national recognition.
Next up for UAB is hosting the NCAA National Championship which is set for May 7-9 in Gulf Shores, Ala.
