London Leads No. 21 UAB to a Pair of Top-Three Finishes at Columbia 300 Western Shootout

BIRMINGHAM -The UAB bowling team finished third on day one and second on day two at the Columbia 300 Western Shootout with a total pinfall count of 9,282.
The Columbia 300 Western Shootout was a two-day competition that consisted of a baker match on day one and a traditional match on day two for total pinfall. In Saturday's baker match, the Blazers finished in third place with a total pinfall of 4,544. UAB finished second in its traditional match on Sunday with a total pinfall of 4,738.
Individually, Elise London won her first tournament MVP award and led the way with a total pinfall of 1,062 to finish in first place. Samantha Johnson placed eighth with a total pinfall of 968 to round out the Blazers in the top-10. London also logged her second all-tournament team this year.
The selection show for the NCAA Women's Bowling National Championship will be Wednesday, March 31 at 4 p.m., streaming live on NCAA.com. The NCAA Regional Play-In will be on April 2-4 and the championship will be held April 7-10 in Kansas City, Mo.
