Two UAB Bowlers Named to MEAC All-Conference

BIRMINGHAM- UAB bowling senior Samantha Johnson and junior Jamie Krasnigor have been named to MEAC All-Conference Teams, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Johnson, who leads the team in total pinfall with 3,602, was named to the second-team. The Apopka, Fla. nativefinished third at the Railsplitter Classic and made the All-Tournament Team. For her efforts, she was named Bowler of the Week.
Krasnigor was named to the third-team. The Leesville, S.C. native ranks second on the team in total pinfall with 3,561. She finished top-25 in three of four competitions this season including a season-best eighth place finish at the Railsplitter Classic.
"Proud doesn't even begin to describe how I feel about Samantha and Jamie," head coach Michelle Crews said. "In these unprecedented times, they have grown so much and stepped up as leaders in more ways than one. They found a way to continue improving and increasing their stats in every category from last year after losing three key players last year, Covid-19 canceling postseason and having limited competition this season. I'm excited to take this exciting news into this weekend's MEAC Championships."
The UAB bowling team will be back in action on March 19 for the MEAC Championship in Chesapeake, Va. The Blazers enters the championship tournament as the No. 4 seed.
