Kohan Named February SoCon Athlete of the Month

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Amy Kohan of the UAB rifle team has been named the February Southern Conference Athlete of the Month for smallbore, as announced by the league office on Friday afternoon.
"I am so proud of Amy and she is very deserving of this award," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "She is a fantastic student-athlete and a great leader as well."
At last week's SoCon Championships, Kohan was tabbed with All-Conference First Team honors in both air rifle and smallbore. In 2020, she was named the conference's Freshman of the Year.
In February, the sophomore shot 576 in smallbore and 584 in air rifle at the NCAA Qualifiers at Georgia Southern for an aggregate score of 1160. Overall, Kohan averaged 570.714 in smallbore, 584.429 in air rifle and 1155.43 aggregate. All her averages lead the team.
Kohan recently placed second overall at the SoCon Championships in smallbore, air rifle and aggregate.
