Kohan Tabbed SoCon Student-Athlete of the Week

BIRMINGHAM – Amy Kohan of the UAB rifle team has been selected as the Southern Conference Student-Athlete of the Week for all sports, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon.
"I am so proud of Amy for earning this award," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "She has worked extremely hard, both in the classroom and athletically and is very deserving of this honor."
Kohan is a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering and is the defending SoCon Freshman of the Year, in addition to being named to both the SoCon Air Rifle and Smallbore All-Conference First Teams last season.
The Arlington, Va. native paces the Green and Gold in air rifle average (583.8) and aggregate average (1152.8). Last weekend at the Citadel, she shot 565 in smallbore and 587 in air rifle for an aggregate score of 1152, leading the Blazers to conference wins against The Citadel, Wofford and VMI.
Kohan and the nationally-ranked No. 19 UAB rifle team return to the range on Feb. 20 for NCAA Qualifiers in Statesboro, Ga.
