A Letter to Blazer Nation From Director of Athletics Mark Ingram

Dear Blazer Nation,
Thank you so much for your continued support of UAB student-athletes. We hope that you and your families are looking forward to a safe and healthy holiday season.
We are only halfway through the 2021-22 academic calendar and have already seen so many successes. UAB Football proudly opened Protective Stadium during the 2021 season which is undoubtedly the nicest college football stadium in the country. We capped off an 8-4 season by accepting an invitation to play BYU in the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 18. This is a great opportunity to play against the number 13 team in the nation and will be televised nationally on ABC. The Blazers are playing in the program's fifth bowl game and their fourth since returning to action in 2017. Season tickets for the 2022 season are also already on sale starting as low as $90 for all six home games.
Be there when Coach Andy Kennedy and the Blazers host West Virginia in the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Basketball Classic on Saturday, Dec. 18 at 4:00 p.m. in the newly renovated Legacy Arena. Your Blazers are hosting the first collegiate game in this state-of-the-art facility, and we need you for the biggest game that UAB has hosted in three years. Tickets to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Basketball Classic include entry to both games of the scheduled doubleheader – UAB vs. West Virginia followed by Miles College vs. Savannah State. UAB Men's Basketball season ticket holders were sent their Alabama Sports Hall of Fame Basketball Classic tickets via mobile delivery on Monday, Dec. 6. If you are a 2021-22 UAB men's basketball season ticket holder and selected the will call option, tickets can be picked up at the UAB Athletics Ticket Office located at Bartow Arena during regular business hours or at Entrance A (main box office) of Legacy Arena starting at 2 p.m. on game day. For single-game ticket buyers, tickets to this event are still available by clicking here. Single-game tickets for this Saturday's doubleheader start as low as $15 with lower-level reserved seats starting at $22.
Women's Basketball is undefeated at Bartow Arena in this young season (4-0). Zakyia Weathersby has been named Conference USA Player of the Week and has multiple double-doubles. Volleyball reached the C-USA tournament for the second time in two years under Coach Betsy Freeburg, which is the first time they have appeared in back-to-back conference tournaments since 2012-2013. Women's Soccer also advanced to the semifinals of the C-USA tournament for the first time since the 2009 season.
I would also like to congratulate all 26 of our student-athletes who graduated this past weekend! You will forever be members of the UAB family and we hope that you come back to visit often!
Our Blazer Boosters members have set us on a path to another historic giving year in pursuit of record highs in support of the Blazer Scholarship Fund, as well as total membership in 2021. As the 2021 giving year comes to a close, we ask you to consider supporting our incredible student-athletes through a tax deductible gift to Blazer Boosters so that UAB can continue to position itself leading into our transition to the American Athletic Conference!
You are truly the reason for all of our success. If you are a donor, a season ticket holder, or have purchased a Blazer T-Shirt, you have helped make UAB Athletics the envy of so many of our peers.
Thank you for everything you do to position us for success. Go Blazers!
