The Blazers broke the game open in the 2nd quarter, using a 16-2 run to go ahead 33-17 at the 1:33 mark. Destiny McClendon closed out the scoring with a jumper to make the score 33-19 at halftime.
The Mocs chipped away at the UAB lead, getting within six points three times, the last to end the 3rd quarter at 47-41.
Weathersby dominated the 4th quarter, going a perfect 6-for-6, scoring 13 points in seven minutes of play. Klaczek's third 3-pointer of the game at 4:42 made the score 59-47 and put the Blazers up by double-figures the rest of the way.
"When you are at home and coming off two loses, you have to take care of business," head coach Randy Norton said. "It's going to be different people every night to step up. Tonight our 5s - Zakyia and Destinee combined for 39 points and 23 rebounds. Emily also gave us a huge spark off the bench."
As a team, UAB scored 32 points off of 19 UTC turnovers, had 18 second chance points to the Mocs' five and outscored Chattanooga in the paint 38-20.
"At the end of the day, this is a great team win and we are looking to get some momentum off this and continue to get better," added Norton.
