BIRMINGHAM – The UAB Department of Athletics and Blazer Sports Properties/Learfield have once again partnered with Protective Life Corporation (Protective) to recognize community organizations through their Most Valuable Protector (MVP) program at each of UAB's five home football games this fall. Through the collaboration, Protective aims to recognize deserving non-profit and individual heroes making a difference and being a protector in the greater Birmingham area.
"At Protective, we know Birmingham is special. That's why we've called it home for more than a century. Our communities, Birmingham's people, and organizations like those honored through our MVP program are what make it "The Magic City", said Eva Robertson, Vice President for Community Relations for Protective Life Corporation and Executive Director of Protective Life Foundation. "Through the MVP recognition, we highlight and support organizations in our community that are doing important work to keep the magic alive. Protective is proud to be able to share these organizations with the Blazer family each home game.
This year's Protective Life MVPs are recognized on the field during each home game.
Oct. 2 vs. Liberty – The Grace Klein Community
Oct. 9 vs. Florida Atlantic – Birmingham Promise
Oct. 23 vs. Rice – Children's Harbor
Nov. 6 vs. Louisiana Tech – One Place Metro Alabama Family Justice Center
Nov. 26 vs. UTEP – Silver Glovz
Protective is proud to be a part of Blazer gameday with the MVP program and is honored to recognize the great work these organizations do within our communities.
