UAB Falls by Four to Two Top-20 Squads

BIRMINGHAM - A pair of four-point losses on the road to top-20 opponents put a cap on weekend matches for the UAB rifle team, as the Blazers fell to No. 17 North Georgia, 4600-4596 on Friday and to No. 20 UT Martin, 4584-4580 on Saturday.
In a conference match between the Blazers and the Nighthawks hosted by Murray State on Friday, Zoe Lum led UAB in aggregate score (1156) and both disciplines, shooting 576 in smallbore and 580 in air rifle.
Last season's SoCon Freshman of the Year Amy Kohan was just behind Lum with a smallbore mark of 575 and an air rifle score of 579, totaling 1154.

Kohan paced the Green and Gold on Saturday against UT Martin, shooting 574 in smallbore and 583 in air rifle for an aggregate score of 1157, good for second place among all Blazers and Skyhawks. Lum was right behind, also shooting 583 in air rifle, while firing a 572 in smallbore, totaling 1155.
Jordan Blankenship placed fifth (1148), while Sophia Flores finished in sixth (1142). Maggie Vonderau wrapped up Blazers in the top-10 in ninth place with an aggregate score of 1126.
