UAB Rifle Releases 2020-21 Competition Schedule

BIRMINGHAM - The two-time defending SoCon champion UAB rifle team and head coach Lori Goodwin have released the competition schedule for the 2020-21 season, featuring 11 matches.
"I'm excited to see our team compete this season," Goodwin said. "We are happy to get the chance to compete and ready for the opportunities that a new season brings."
The season is set to begin on Oct. 11 as the Blazers make the short drive to Jacksonville, Ala. to take on UTEP in a neutral-site matchup. The Miners finished the 2019-20 season two spots ahead of UAB in the final NCAA rankings at No. 18.
UAB will then travel to The Citadel for a match on Oct. 17 before competing in a match at Georgia Southern on Oct. 31.
Nov. 7 will see the Green and Gold shoot at a match in Spartanburg, S.C. at Wofford, a week before UAB is set to participate in Lexington, Va. at VMI on Nov. 14. The fall portion of the schedule wraps up on Nov. 22 as the Blazers head back to Jacksonville.
UAB will head to Wofford once again on Jan. 16 before competing on back-to-back days at Murray State and UT-Martin on Jan. 22 and 23, respectively.
UAB's NCAA Qualifiers are set to take place in Statesboro, Ga. on Feb. 20 and the Blazers will look to win their third consecutive conference title on Mar. 7-8 in Lexington, Va.
Matches, dates and opponents are all subject to change due to COVID-19.
