UAB Moves up to No. 21 in NTCA’s Second Coaches’ Poll

BIRMINGHAM– The UAB bowling team has secured another spot in the National Tenpin Coaches Association's (NTCA) second poll of the season. The Blazers moved up to No. 21 the national organization announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The Blazers appeared in the first poll of the season at No. 22. UAB wrapped up the first half of their season with a 28-22 record including top-10 finishes in all four competitions so far.
Individually, Rachel Strogin and Samantha Johnson both made the Allstate Sugar Bowl All-Tournament team and Taylor Russell made the Stallings Invitational All-Tournament team. Russell was also the first Blazer this season to receive Bowler of the Week honors.
UAB is one of five MEAC teams to make an appearance in the NTCA's second poll including Maryland Eastern Shore (No. 6), North Carolina A&T (No. 8), Delaware State (No. 18), and Monmouth (No. 22).
The Blazers are set to make their return to the lanes on February 7 when they travel to Orlando, Fla. to compete in the Wildcat Classic hosted by Bethune-Cookman.
