Three Blazers Land in PGA Tour University Rankings

BIRMINGHAM — The PGA Tour University released its full player rankings which included UAB seniors William Walker III, Drew Mathers and Ben Reichert.
William Walker III, who was recently named C-USA Co-Golfer of the Week, is ranked 56 out of 448 players. In nine rounds this fall, Walker III has a stroke average of 73.2, helping him secure two Top 5 finishes.
Drew Mathers checks in at No. 183. Mathers has an average of 73.4 and has placed Top 20 in two of three tournaments. His best finish came at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate where he shot a 212 and tied for 3rd overall.
Ben Reichert is ranked 330. Reichert has played in one tournament with an average of 75 including one round under par.
John Pak of Florida State remains the top ranked golfer, followed by Chun An Yu of Arizona State and Davis Thompson of Georgia. Sandy Scott of Texas Tech and John Augenstein of Vanderbilt round off the top five.
The top five ranked players at the end of the season receive Korn Ferry Tour membership and are exempt to all open, full-field events beginning the week following the conclusion of the NCAA Division I Men's National Championship.
The Blazers, who won all three of their tournaments this fall, now enjoy some time off before starting competition in the spring when UAB travels to Mobile for the Mobile Sports Authority on February 15-16.
