Blazers Conclude Gans Creek Classic

COLUMBIA, Mo. – The UAB cross country team concluded competition at the Gans Creek Classic on Friday, finishing 11th.
"When you are an extremely young and talented team, you are going to take your lumps," said coach Matt Esche. "With one girl being sick and another not racing due to an injury, we were not 100 percent. Either way, that wasn't an excuse. We will go back and figure out what happened. I believe in our girls. We will get this figured out."
Freshman Lauren Robinson led the way for the Blazers with a top 50 finish, placing 46th overall.
UAB will come home for its next appearance on the course to host the Blazer Classic for the second consecutive year. The meet is scheduled for Oct. 18 with race times to be announced on a later date.
