UAB Men’s Golf Announces 2019-2020 Schedule

BIRMINGHAM – Headlined by three tournaments in Birmingham and a trip to the Bahamas, head coach Mike Wilson has announced the UAB men's golf competition schedule for the 2019-2020 season.
"We are extremely excited for the 2019-2020 season," Wilson said. We return four starters are have added several newcomers that can contribute right away. When building this schedule, it was important to continue playing against the best teams week-in and week-out and I feel like that has been accomplished. The foundation has been set and now we just have to perform as a team on the course."
The Blazers open the season at a tournament in which they have experienced tremendous success - the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate hosted by Louisiana Tech, Sept. 15-17. At last year's Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, the Blazers won the team title and William Walker III captured the individual title.
UAB returns to Birmingham the following week, Sept. 23-24, to host the Graeme McDowell Invitational at Greystone Country Club. The Blazers remain in Birmingham for two weeks and participate in the Jerry Pate Invitational, Oct. 7-8, hosted by the University of Alabama at Old Overton Club.
Playing in its fourth tournament of the fall, UAB travels to Vero Beach, Fla., just outside of Miami, to participate in the Quail Valley Collegiate Invitational hosted by Notre Dame on Oct. 20-21.
The final tournament of the fall sees the Blazers venture internationally to the Bahamas for the White Sands Intercollegiate at Oceans Club, Nov. 1-3, hosted by the University of Houston.
UAB has a minimum of six spring tournaments, beginning Feb. 10-11 at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate hosted by South Alabama at RTJ Magnolia Crossings Course.
The Blazers resume action a month later, March 13-15, at The Schenkle in Statesboro, Ga., followed by traveling to Lake Oconee, Ga., the following week (March 20-22) to play in the Linger Longer hosted Kennesaw State.
The Hayt in Ponte Verda Beach, Fla., is the following week, March 29-30, and the Blazers then conclude the regular season on April 13-14 by co-hosting the Shoal Creek Invitational with Auburn and Kentucky in Birmingham.
Conference USA's championship returns to Texarkana Ark., to be played April 26-30 at Texarkana Country Club.
NCAA Regionals will take place at six different locations across the United States, and Arizona State will host the 2020 NCAA Championship in Tempe, Ariz., May 25-30.
