Blazers fall to No. 10 South Carolina and No. 12 Stetson

COLUMBIA, S.C. β The UAB beach volleyball team lost a pair of matches to No. 10 South Carolina and No. 12 Stetson on the opening day of the Gamecock Grand Slam Saturday in Columbia.

The Blazers (7-7, 1-6 CCSA) opened the day with a 4-1 defeat to Stetson and then fell 5-0 to South Carolina.

The win for UAB in the Stetson match came on court three as Jayme Bratsberg and Annie Pringle notched a three-set victory over Ana Costa and Rachel Noble 21-16, 19-21, 15-12. All four other courts were straight set victories for Stetson, as were all five for South Carolina in the afternoon match.
