Men’s Golf Tied for Seventh after Round One of Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – Led by Murray Naysmith's one-under 71, the UAB men's golf team is currently tied for seventh after the opening 18 holes at the Schenkel Invitational.
Naysmith is tied for ninth overall as four UAB golfers are all within three strokes of each other. Following Naysmith, sophomore Nick Robillard is tied for 25th at +1, while senior John Hayden and junior William Walker III are both one shot behind Robillard at +2 (T33).
The Blazers are currently nine shots off the lead which is held by College of Charleston and Mississippi State at -5. East Tennessee State (-3), Notre Dame (E) and Kentucky (+1) round out the top five.
Action at Forest Heights Country Club continues on Saturday with the second round, and the tournament will conclude with the final 18 holes on Sunday. Click here for live results.
