Blazers Set for NCAA Qualifier in Charleston

BIRMINGHAM – Fresh off of competing SoCon unbeaten, the UAB rifle team looks to keep its season alive when it travels to compete in the NCAA Qualifier in Charleston, S.C. Joining the Blazers in Charleston is Wofford, Georgia Southern and the Citadel.
"We are excited to be compete in the NCAA Qualifier," head coach Lori Goodwin said. "We have had a good season up to this point, but our goal is the NCAA Championships and this week helps us get there."
Michael Dietz has been the most consistent shooter in the UAB lineup this season, leading the team in nine of the team's 10 matches. The freshman has averaged a 571.1 score in Smallbore and a 582.5 in Air for a season aggregate average of 1153.6.
UAB defeated Wofford and Georgia Southern in a dual match last weekend in Statesboro. The Citadel went 8-20 during the regular season, closing the season with a pair of losses to No. 15 NC State and No. 19 Georgia Southern.
