Men’s Tennis Wraps Up Play at Samford Round Robin

BIRMINGHAM – The UAB men's tennis team completed play at Samford's Round Robin on Sunday, taking home eight victories over the three-day weekend tournament.
The Blazers claimed one win on Friday, with senior Nikolai Manchev defeating Tulane's Benji Jacobson, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.
Saturday saw UAB win four matches, two each in doubles and singles. Tom el Safadi and Nikola Puric overcame Bellalouna and Rebol of Samford, 6-4, while Chase Parker and Parker Bradbary beat South Alabama's Delcour and Blissard, 7-6. The two singles victories came from el Safadi and Manchev, as they took down Troy's Selma (6-2, 6-4) and Whittaker (1-6, 6-3, 7-6 (8)), respectively.
El Safadi and Manchev each recorded another singles win each on Sunday, the final day of the event. El Safadi was victorious over Jacobson, 7-5, 6-2, and Manchev came out on top against Blissard, 6-1, 6-1. Bradbary wrapped up the weekend with another Blazer victory over Samford's Dixon, 6-2, 6-4.
UAB currently has three players, Roman Postolka, Michal Lusovsky and Daniel Janko, competing at the ITA All-American in Tulsa, Okla.
