Bowling Finishes the Weekend 10-3 at the Kutztown Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – For the second weekend in a row the UAB bowling team finished with a 10-3 record, finishing 11th at the Kutztown Invitational with a total pin fall of 12,881.
 
UAB (54-21) started the weekend going 5-0 on day one with wins over Delaware State (917-880), Adelphi (971-924), Chestnut Hill (1,062-829), a win over conference rival Monmouth (907-876) and closed out the opening day with a win over tournament host Kutztown (1,063-891).
 
The Green and Gold went 3-2 on Saturday with wins over St. Francis Pa. (1,007-964), Duquesne (901-874) and Sacred Heart (1,036-910) but fell to University of Maryland Eastern Shore and Fairleigh Dickinson.
 
"It was another exciting weekend and a great way to continue our momentum from last week," head coach Michelle Crews said. "The team was focused and showed consistency through each game. We still have things to clean up and we'll continue to work each day as we move toward the MEAC Championship and the postseason."
 
Caitlin Cunningham led the way over the weekend with an average score of 208.20 and had a total pin fall of 1,041. She entered the tournament with nine games of scores of 200 or better and added three more to her season total. Against St. Francis Pa. she bowled 224, her highest score of the weekend.
 
Cunningham hit 223 against Fairleigh Dickinson and 217 against Sacred Heart.
