UAB Releases 2018-2019 Men’s Tennis Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The official schedule for the UAB men's tennis team, highlighted by eight home matches, has been released by head coach Derek Tarr.
The Blazers' season begins in Chattanooga, Tennessee, at the UTC Clay Court Invite (Sep. 14-16). The team then heads to Tulsa, Oklahoma, to take part in the ITC All-American Championships, which are held from Sept. 29-Oct. 8. The ITA Southern Regional in Tuscaloosa will play host to the Blazers from Oct. 17-22.
UAB will host an ITF Futures tournament (Oct. 29-31) and the Birmingham Country Club Invitational (Nov. 2-4) before wrapping up the fall season in Pensacola, Florida, at another ITF Futures tournament.
The Blazers will travel to Baton Rouge to play in the LSU Hidden Dual on Jan. 19 prior to playing a match at Lipscomb (Jan. 26) to kick off the spring.
The regular-season home schedule opens with Conference USA opponent Southern Miss (Feb. 3) and in-state foes South Alabama (Feb. 9) and North Alabama (Feb. 17). A match against Samford will then be played in Birmingham on Feb. 22.
UAB's home stretch continues as the Blazers play host to Florida A&M (Feb. 24), Alabama A&M (Mar. 2), Jackson State (Mar. 3) and Tennessee Tech (Mar. 9). The team then travels to Boca Raton to take on UConn (Mar. 15) and Florida Atlantic (Mar. 16).
Road matches at Middle Tennessee (Mar. 30) and Belmont (Mar. 31) precede the Conference USA Shootout, which will be played in Houston from April 5-7.
The regular season and home schedules both conclude with a match against Troy on April 15.
The Blazers will make the short drive to Murfreesboro, Tennessee, for the Conference USA Tournament, which will be played from April 19-21.
