Ben Reichert to Play in U.S. Amateur Open

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - UAB men's golfer Ben Reichert is set to participate in the 118th U.S. Amateur Open, Aug. 13-19, at the world-famous Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Reichert was one of 312 golfers to qualify for the tournament and he did so in July playing in the Western Pa. qualifier.
Play begins Monday, Aug. 13 and the top 64 golfers after 36 holes will advance to match play which begins on Wednesday.
The winner of the U.S. Amateur Open will receive an exemption local and sectional qualifying for the next U.S. Open, as well as exemptions from qualifying for the British Open and likely the Masters.
Reichert sat out for the Blazers last year after transferring from Ole Miss and will be eligible to play for the 2018-19 season.
