UAB Employee Appreciation Day set for Wednesday, Aug. 1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The UAB Department of Athletics will host UAB Employee Appreciate Day on Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the Administration Building Lobby and Bartow Arena Main Lobby. Β

UAB employees are invited to join the Blazers at one of the two locations from 7:30-9:30 a.m. for complimentary donuts and to purchase 2018 UAB football season tickets. Each location will have a sales team and athletic representative on hand.

"We had such a great home field advantage last season and our UAB employees were a major reason for that," head coach Bill Clark said. "We couldn't have been successful without their tremendous support and we look forward replicating that gameday atmosphere this coming season." Β

Employees will have the option to sign up for payroll deduction on site, along with the option to also purchase mini plans and the Family Four Pack. Employees who show up will have the added benefit of being able to purchase single game tickets which go on sale that day. The price points for season tickets are as follows:

UAB Employee Season Tickets - $135 (sections 10-11)
Blaze's Corner - $99
Family Four Pack - 4 for $300 (sections 35-36)
Three-game Mini Plan: Any three games for $51

Along with donuts, UAB football poster and other prizes will be available.

Coming off their historic return to the football field in 2017, the Blazers are just five weeks away from opening the 2018 campaign on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Legion Field against Savannah State.

The Blazers return the second most starters in the country (20), while their 10 returning offensive starters are tied for most in the nation.
