Men’s Tennis Honored by ITA for Academic Achievements

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's tennis team was recognized for its continued excellence in the classroom as it was named an ITA All-Academic team, the tennis organization announced on Tuesday morning.
UAB also saw six individuals named Scholar-Athletes for their efforts off the court. Those recognized are: Brian Akhtar, Anru Fourie, Marlon Goering, Nikolai Manchev, Henry Paiste and Kenton Parton. The team finished the season with a 3.57 GPA.
To earn the honor, student-athletes must be a letterwinner, maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher and have been enrolled at the institution for at least two semesters. To claim the team honor, the program must post a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or better.
Overall, the ITA honored 735 teams and 4,328 student-athletes across all five divisions of collegiate tennis.
