Spencer Brown Named to Bruce Feldman’s ‘Freaks List’

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Sophomore All-America running back Spencer Brown has been named to college football reporter Bruce Feldman's 'Freaks List,' which annually recognizes college football's rarest physical ability.
A reporter for Fox Sports/FS1 and a writer for The Athletic, Feldman ranked Brown No. 40 on his list of the top 50 freaks heading into the 2018 season.
Brown arrived at UAB as a true freshman in the summer of 2017 and immediately became a weight room hero, putting up a max squat of 600 pounds, a max bench of 365 pounds and a max clean of 345 pounds.
His power translated onto the field as Brown garnered national headlines after rushing for 1,329 yards and 10 touchdowns en route to becoming UAB's first ever FWAA Freshman All-America honoree, while also being named the C-USA Freshman of the Year.
Brown has dropped 15 pounds and checks in at 220 heading into his sophomore campaign. He has seen his max number increase as he is now at 650 on squat and 365 on power clean.
The Blazers are just over 50 days away from the start of the 2018 season, which begins on Thursday, Aug. 30 at Legion Field against Savannah State. Tickets are available by clicking here.
