BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Squaring off with the top team in the league on Friday, the UAB men's tennis team put its best foot forward but came up just short as the Blazers fell to No. 33 Old Dominion, 4-0, the Conference USA Tournament quarterfinals.

UAB closed out the season with a 12-10 overall record, its most wins since the 2015-16 season, and a perfect 7-0 record on its home courts.

ODU swept through doubles play, earning wins on Courts 2 (6-3) and 3 (6-0) to take the early 1-0 lead in the match.

Anru Fourie and Tim Dollman each were solid in their opening sets, falling to their opponents 7-5 and 7-6(7-0), respectively. However, they both went on to drop their seconds sets to see ODU go up 3-0.

Francois Musitellis clinched the sweep for Old Dominion with a 7-5, 6-3 win over Kenton Parton on Court 4.

Nikolai Manchev posted the best result in singles play, winning his opening set 6-2 and finishing in a 1-1 third-set tie as the match went unfinished.
