Blazers Remain Inside Top-15
3/7/2018 1:27:00 PM | Women's Bowling
WHITWATER, Wis. – The UAB bowling team remained as one of the top-15 teams in the country moving to the No. 14 as announced by the National Tenpin Coaches Association Poll (NTCA) on Wednesday.
"We dropped to 14th but are holding our top-15 place strongly," head coach Michelle Crews said. "The only tournament we competed in since our last poll was the SFA Lady Jacks Invitational. While we didn't bowl bad, we did come out of it with a losing record which hurt our overall record. If you look at our RPI we have maintained our same ranking of 12th. I am excited about where we currently are as we head into our last regular season event as Vanderbilt next weekend and USBC Sectional this weekend."
UAB sits at 53-35 overall on the season through seven events this season. Taylor Russell leads the talented young squad with a 208.91 average and 22 games of a 200+ or better score.
The Blazers return to the lanes this weekend with a trip to Symrna, Tenn., to compete in the USBC Sectionals.
