UAB Homecoming Set for Oct. 20 versus North Texas

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB Department of Athletics, in conjunction with the UAB National Alumni Society, announced Tuesday its 2018 Homecoming football game will be played on Oct. 20 against North Texas at Legion Field.
More information on kickoff time and Homecoming festivities will be announced at a later date.
"Having our Homecoming game against the reigning West Division champions will make for an electric atmosphere at Legion Field," head coach Bill Clark said. "Last year's Homecoming game was one of the most memorable games I have ever been a part of and we look forward to recreating a scene like that again this year."
UAB and North Texas will be meeting on the gridiron for the fourth time in program history and this is the second-straight year the Blazers will host the reigning C-USA West Division champs for their Homecoming game.
Last season, UAB defeated Louisiana Tech in dramatic fashion on Homecoming with a blocked field goal as time expired to preserve a 23-22 victory. Those heroics proved critical in UAB maintaining an undefeated record at home and helped the Blazers finish the season with a perfect 6-0 mark in Birmingham.
UAB's Homecoming game highlights many exciting events at Legion Field throughout the season, which includes the following themed promotions:
8/30 vs. Savannah State – Youth Football Day
9/15 vs. Tulane – Extra Yard for Teachers (CFP)/Band Day
9/29 vs. Charlotte – Parents Weekend
10/20 vs. North Texas – Homecoming
11/3 vs. UTSA – Hall of Fame Weekend
11/10 vs. Southern Miss – Salute to Service
Season tickets are on sale and the football priority seat deadline is April 1, followed by the priority allocation starting on Monday, April 16. Season tickets can be secured today by clicking here or calling the UAB Athletics Ticket Office at 205-975-UAB1.
