After seven practices, here are storylines that have emerged thus far.
- Along with Spencer Brown and Jarrion Street, a third running back has emerged in Kingston Davis. At 6-0, 245 lbs, Davis has shown a punishing running style and the ability to break tackles once into the second level.
- The true freshmen who used a redshirt in the fall have been hungry to prove they can vie for playing time. Defensively, and specifically in the defensive backfield, David Acfalle has had a few thunderous tackles, while other true freshmen such as Grayson Cash, Will Boler and Kobe Griffin continue to make strides as well.
- The offense remains intact from the fall with 10 starters back, while Rishard Cook has impressed at the left guard position vacated by Chris Schleuger. Cook has shed 35 lbs and looks fast, powerful and confident.
- The transition for Donnie Lee to tight end has been seamless as Lee already looks comfortable in his new pass-catching role. The former running back was fourth on the team last year in receptions and should only see those numbers increase this season.
- The Spring Game is 16 days away and Coach Clark has challenged the Birmingham community to out-do last year's crowd of almost 8,000.
- Tickets are on sale for $5 and can be purchased by clicking here. Following the Spring game which starts at 1 p.m., fans are encouraged to stick around Legion Field for the annual Sons of UAB Flag Football Game.
