UAB Welcomes Four New Faces

BIRMINGHAM - Head coach Derek Tarr has announced that the UAB men's tennis program has signed four players for the upcoming season.
Roman Poštolka, Jasper Oliver van Kleef, Michal Lusovsky and Chase Parker have all signed National Letters of Intent (NLIs) to continue their tennis careers for the Blazers.
Postolka, a native of the Czech Republic, was a semifinalist at the Czech Tennis Association Pardubicka Juniorka, the Czech Tennis Association winter junior doubles champion and the winner of the Czech Tennis Association Men's A-Category tournament.
Van Kleef, a native of the Netherlands and a strong doubles performer, claimed the doubles titles at ITF events in August and September in Kramfors, Sweden, Bucharest, Romania, Montenegro and The Hauge, Netherlands over the past two competition years.
Lusovsky, another Czech Republic native, claimed victories in 16 events over the past two years in both singles and doubles play, while finishing as runner-up in nine competitions. Lusovsky mainly participated in events in the Czech Tennis Association.
Parker, a native of Dothan, Alabama, played in the No. 1 position for both singles and doubles at Northview High School, posting a 65-1 singles record and a 42-1 doubles mark in his high school career. He was a three-time AHSAA 6A Singles Champion (2016, 2017, 2018) and a two-time AHSAA 6A Doubles Champion (2017, 2018). Parker was also a member of the Alabama Super All-State Tennis Team in 2017 and 2018.
UAB men's tennis opens its spring season on Jan. 12 at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla.
