Clark was recognized at last year's MFC Awards Gala for UAB's efforts in its return to the field. Clark was presented the 2017 Thomas Brookshire Spirit Award.
In 2018, Clark has taken UAB to a new level as the Blazers enter this weekend's regular season finale at Middle Tennessee with an overall record of 9-2 and 7-0 in C-USA, both of which are new program records.
The 2018 Conference USA West Division Champion, UAB will be playing in its first C-USA championship game on Dec. 1, and can secure home field advantage with a win this weekend.
On Nov. 11, UAB cracked the Amway Coaches Poll Top-25 for the first time in school history, marking just the second time UAB has ever been ranked (2004 in BCS ranking).
Since UAB's return to the playing field, UAB has compiled an overall record of 17-7 and a league-best mark of 13-2 in Conference USA action.
UAB and Middle Tennessee kick off this Saturday at 2 p.m. CST in Murfreesboro on ESPN3.
The Blazers will play either Middle Tennessee or FIU in the championship game. A win for FIU over Marshall on Saturday will give the Panthers the East Division crown. Middle Tennessee needs to beat UAB and have FIU lose to the Thundering Herd to play in the title game.
