KIABV Elite Camp Set for November 10 in Huntsville

BIRMINGHAM - Aspiring collegiate beach volleyball players will have an opportunity to learn from the top coaches in the state of Alabama as the UAB beach volleyball program hosts the Kyra Iannone Academy of Beach Volleyball (KIABV) Elite Camp on Saturday, Nov. 10 in Huntsville, Ala.
The one-day camp will take place at the United Beach Volleyball Complex which is located at 500 Drank Avenue SW, Huntsville, AL 35905. The KIABV Elite Camp will be broken up into two age groups for boys and girls ages 10-14 and 15-18.
"I am so excited to have a connection here in Alabama as it's very important to UAB beach volleyball to unite with our community and continue to build the landscape of Alabama beach volleyball," Iannone said. "Our team is built on the concept of family, and every family needs a home. Alabama is home, so we are excited to teach the youth in our own backyard."
The camp will be broken up into two sessions from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and 1-4 p.m. Lunch will be provided during the hour break.
Registration is $175 per athlete if done before Oct. 22, and $200 per athlete after the 22nd.
Along with Iannone, assistant coach Niatha Cullen and current UAB beach volleyball student-athletes will assist in coaching the camp.
Members of the CCSA, which is regarded as one of the best conferences in all of collegiate beach volleyball, Iannone enters her second season as head coach of the Blazers. In her first her, Iannone led UAB to numerous program records, including its first win over a nationally-ranked team with a 3-2 victory over No. 8 South Carolina.
A household name on the international beach volleyball scene, Iannone most recently guided Team Canada to its first-ever Gold Medal at the FIFU Beach Volleyball World Championships this past summer.
