Blazers Continue Strong Start to Fall Campaign

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men's tennis team continued its strong start to the fall season as the Blazers earned a total of 13 victories across singles and doubles play at the Southern Miss Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
Over the course of the two-day competition, the Green and Gold posted an 8-10 record in singles and 5-4 in doubles.
UAB opened the weekend against the hosts Southern Miss, sharing the spoils in singles play as both schools won three matches. The Blazers then dropped a tough decision to Louisiana-Lafayette, 4-2, before entering the doubles portion of the day.
The Blazers were dominant in its lone doubles match on Friday, taking down South Alabama in a clean sweep, 3-0.
Saturday was no different for the Blazers as the team swept South Alabama in 3-0 in doubles play. The team also added five singles victory on the final day of competition.
UAB returns to action on Sunday as sophomore Tim Dollman and junior Stefan Gonzalez open competition at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
