BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – After finishing 14th at the Battle in Beantown the UAB cross country team holds steady at No. 12 in the South Region for the third week in a row, the USTFCCCA announced on Monday.
Since the USTFCCCA released its preseason poll on Sept. 28, which ranked the Blazers 12th, UAB has turned in consistent performances to hold steady each week at No. 12.
The Blazers opened the season with a win in the Brooks Memphis Twilight before competing at the Battle in Beantown.
"Sitting at 12 in the region shows that we have been running with a lot of consistency," head coach Matt Esche said. "For us to move up into the top 10, which we are very capable of, we will need to have even stronger performances across the board this weekend in Louisville.'
UAB's next meet is the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday, Sept. 30. at Tom Sawyer State Park.
