UAB Set to Participate in Ping Cougar Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The UAB men’s golf team will participate in the BYU Ping Cougar Classic on Monday and Tuesday, April 10-11, at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah.
The Blazers will be one of 11 teams in the field, which also includes BYU, Boise State, Loyola Marymount, Pacific, Saint Mary's (CA), San Francisco, Santa Clara, Utah, Utah Valley and Westminster.
This is UAB’s final tune up before the Conference USA Championship which will take place in Texarkana, Ark., April 23-26.
R.J. Keur continues to lead the Blazers and looks for his fifth straight top 20 finish at BYU. Keur has shot under par in each of his last two tournaments, which included a career-best ten under at the Schenkel Invitational three weeks ago en route to being named the C-USA Golfer of the Week.
The junior has been UAB’s top finisher in four straight tournaments and took home second place in two of those four tournaments. He looks to win his first tournament as a Blazer at BYU.
William Walker is coming off his best showing of the season last time out as he joined Keur with a top 20 finish at the 3M Augusta Invitational. The redshirt freshman tied for 19th overall and shot a -3, which included a two under in each of his first two rounds.
The tournament features 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Click here for live results for the entire tournament.
