SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – Emily Drouin posted a great performance as one of the UAB women’s track & field competitors to compete out in California on Friday. She notched a new personal-record by 15 seconds in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase at the San Francisco State Distance Carnival.
“Emily stole the show,” said UAB associate head track & field coach Matt Esche. “We are in solid shape and learned how to run with some adversity today. That will make us stronger in the weeks to come.”
Drouin notched a time of 10:47.94 as she earned a 13th-place finish. Her previous best time came in 2015 while at Chattanooga (11:03.34). It was also the fourth-fastest time in UAB history.
Rebecca Evans also added a new personal mark on the day competing in the 5,000 Meter Run (17:15.09).
Hannah Coffin also competed nearby in the prestigious Stanford Invitational on the evening in the 3,000 Meter Steeplechase and held a lead early in the race.
