BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- UAB has launched a new comprehensive website for the Football Operations Center and Legacy Pavilion. Fans can now visit www.uab.edu/footballfacility to follow up-to-date developments pertaining to the new state-of-the-art building.
Among its amenities, the website features a virtual tour of the Football Operations Center, as well as a live construction webcam detailing minute-by-minute progress being made by MJ Harris Construction Services. The landing page also outlines an overview of the entire project, provides a timeline of key events and includes a social media feed.
Head Coach Bill Clark knows the impact these facilities being built will have for the UAB Football program. "I came to UAB because of how special I knew it could be. We want to push ourselves to be excellent in everything we do. This facility is going to give our team a tremendous advantage and is a game changer for us in every way," Clark said. "Our fans now have the unique ability to join our team in following the progression of a state-of-the art facility as it's being built."
Over $20 million has already been pledged by donors to support the facility with fundraising ongoing. Construction is expected to be completed by July of 2017, and the new Football Operations Center will be fully functional in anticipation of the Blazers' upcoming fall camp.
Fans also have the ability to direct their support for the facility project through the site. Naming opportunities are now available, and those who have made a pledge will be contacted by Blazer Boosters and offered an opportunity to choose from based on your commitment level. Naming opportunities will be assigned based on the Blazer Boosters Priority Point System. For more information on ways to support UAB Football, contact Blazer Boosters at (205) 996-9969.
"The Football Operations Center is a crucial step in the advancement of UAB Football and this website honors and highlights everyone who has helped make it possible," said Director of Athletics Mark Ingram. "Having this site also allows our fans to track the daily progress of the facility for the next six months leading up to its completion in July."
UAB Football returns to the field on September 2, 2017, when the Blazers host Alabama A&M at Legion Field. Season tickets are on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.
