No. 74 UAB Falls to No. 50 Old Dominion

MOBILE, Ala. – The No. 74 UAB fell to No. 50 Old Dominion 4-2 in Mobile at the Bruce David Lubel Memorial Tennis Courts on Saturday.
The Blazers took an early lead in doubles play with a 6-2 win on court two thanks to play by Luiz Felipe Pinto and Mitchell Martell. The Monarchs knotted doubles play up at 1-1 with a win over UAB’s top duo, Christian Coetzee and Kenton Parton, 6-3.
With the doubles point on the line, Eric Komati and Stepan Vanvurik earned their third-straight win with a gutsy 7-6 victory on court three to claim a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles, Vancurik helped extend the Blazers’ lead to 2-0 with a 6-3, 6-1 win on court six.
ODU refused to go quietly as it won four straight singles points on its way to defeating UAB, 4-2.
The Blazers return to the courts on Wednesday as it faces University of Alabam
