Beach Volleyball Falls in Friday Doubleheader

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The UAB beach volleyball team fell to North Florida and Florida State in Friday’s doubleheader to open the FSU Duals hosted by the Seminoles in Tallahassee.
Despite taking two matches to a decisive third set, North Florida swept UAB, 5-0, to open Friday’s competition.
Avei Logoleo and Tressa Buckland battled back with an impressive 29-27 victory to even the series against North Florida’s No. 4 pair Ambre Desaulnay and Chaney Howard, but the Ospreys came out on top in the third set, 15-11.
UAB’s No. 3 pair of Amber Treace and Rachel Evans also fought to three sets against Courtney Miller and Katarina Raicevic, but North Florida claimed the match, 21-11, 18-21, 15-3.
Micaela Reesor and Avery Hoven fell in three sets at the No. 2 position to Lauren Ford and Kimberly Ferguson, 20-22, 21-17, 15-10.
UAB closed Friday’s competition against No. 3 Florida State. The host Seminoles topped UAB, 5-0.
The Blazers’ best outing against Florida State came at the No. 1 position as Chelsi Carter and Sara Rishell won set two, 22-20, to even the series before falling, 15-11 in the final set.
UAB closes the 2016 regular season on Saturday with two CCSA conference series. The Blazers face Tulane at 10:30 a.m. CT before taking on Georgia State at 3 p.m. CT.
