Beach Volleyball Tops Spring Hill

Sara Rishell and Chelsi Carter opened the match with a sweep over Julie Vujnovich and Madison Seuzeneau at the No. 1 position with dominating 21-10 and 21-17 victories.
With the win, Carter improved her individual record to an undefeated 3-0.
Spring Hill evened the match at 1-1 with a victory at the No. 2 position as Anna Tietjens and Dorina Klinger defeated Michaela Ressor and Avery Hoven in two sets (21-15, 21-11).
UAB (4-1) responded by not dropping another match with impressive two-set sweeps in all three matchups. At the No. 3 position, Tressa Buckland and Avei Logoleo won 21-10, 21-8. Gabbi Moreno and Emily Martinez won at the No. 4 position, 21-10, 21-13, while Amber Treace and Rachel Evans secured the Blazer win with a victory, 21-10, 21-13.
The Blazers return to action this weekend at the South Carolina Duals, where UAB will get its first taste of conference action against South Carolina and Tulane. UAB is also scheduled to face Mercer and Coastal Carolina.

MOBILE, Ala. – The UAB beach volleyball team notched its first victory of the 2016 season defeating Spring Hill, 4-1, at the Jim and Betty Walsh Beach Volleyball Facility in Mobile, Alabama, on Tuesday.
