ORLANDO, Fla. – The UAB men’s tennis team came up short in a battle with UCF at the UCF Tennis Complex on Sunday afternoon as the Knights held off the Blazers, 4-0.
UCF quickly earned a 1-0 advantage in doubles play with a 6-1 win on court three over Eric Komati and Stepan Vancurik. The Knights earned the doubles point with a 6-2 win on court one over Christian Coetzee and Luiz Felipe Pinto.
UCF extended its lead over the Blazers with a 6-3, 6-4 win on court four over Coetzee. Then, back-to-back victories on courts one and five over Mitchell Martell and Pinto, respectively, earned the 4-0 victory for the Knights.
